I have included this, my 1984 painting, in a recent blog but, want to do so again, as the above media article excerpt reinforces my observations at that time. I am not a prophet... it was there then, 30 years ago, for all to see.

There is no question: militarized police forces are spreading unto the streets of all nations of the world and that this phenomenon is leading to violence against the citizenry. And it only promises to get worse, not only in despotic, dictator nations but, also in "democratic" nations, with broader security laws for the streets and cyber space with the rationalization to "protect society" from the "terrorists". I label this....sticking roses in your ass while they place a gun at your forehead. Our options are limited and violent with either choice.



History does indeed repeat itself, as I was reading up on Solzhenitsyn and the subject of his Gulag Archipelago and the violence against him throughout his life time... the last century, as it repeats itself in this century. This is in my lifetime.
A Facebook picture was pointed out to me yesterday of a Russian Orthodox pope dressed in military fatigues and brandishing an AK47 along with others in his company. Need I say more than I have already said in recent blogs on the subject of this systemic hypocrisy.
And "they" blame it all on someone/something else... all the violence, head chopping, shooting children...

"50% of the world's wealth is held by the 1%". That is obviously a condition for oppression and violence and induced apathy
Yes

So true, so oppressive...

the weight of apathy

which robs the sails of wind

the rudder of direction

the mind of blood

the eyes of sight

the motivation of fight, fright and flight

We stand naked on the beach

as the vulture drones soar above

and we take no notice

we pay our insurance protection

and our taxes

dress in our costumes

to hide from the media bullets of bits and bites

of the world outside

and pretend and pretend and pretend

as volume gets louder, louder, louder


Take another pill to fill the hole

Good bye!
